The night Abigail and Wil met was also the night Gabe and Jordyn were married. Wil approached Abigail, bought her a drink, and asked her to dance. Little did they know that evening would mark the beginning of their own love story.

After some convincing, Abigail decided to give Wil a chance. For their first official date, they headed to Joy’s Table in Kearney for a double date with Wil’s best man, Zach. Over a five-course meal, what began as a first date became another memorable chapter in their story.

By this point, it was safe to say that Abigail was smitten with Wil. During spring break, Abigail and her mom, Trish, traveled to Minnesota for some hockey. After returning home, Abigail wasted no time and drove nine hours to Colorado to meet Wil. It was becoming clear that distance was no match for the two of them.

Abigail graduated from UNK, and having Wil there to celebrate such an important milestone meant the world to her. They celebrated afterward with friends on a party bus, making it a day to remember.

Move-in day! Abigail took her first full-time job in Lincoln, and suddenly, the distance between them was only 13 minutes. Being so close made their time together even sweeter.

Deer hunting season arrived, and Wil took Abigail hunting for the first time. She quickly fell in love with the peacefulness of the early mornings and the joy of stepping outside her comfort zone together.

Wil, Abigail, and Brew celebrated their first Christmas together. Just before this milestone, they also went ring shopping at Nebraska Diamond, making the season even more special.

Abigail and Wil took a trip with friends to Ski Cooper, enjoying one of their favorite ways to spend time together: skiing and snowboarding.

Then came Wil’s graduation day. After four long years of school, Abigail couldn’t have been more proud of his perseverance and dedication. They celebrated the milestone with a joint graduation party with Jordyn in Omaha.

The day they had been dreaming of since the moment they first laid eyes on each other had finally arrived. Wil took Abigail out onto the dock at the lake and asked her to marry him.
Of course, she said yes.
After many happy tears and a little time to debrief how Wil had managed to get the ring, they called their families to share the news. Everyone was over the moon and so incredibly happy for them. They partied into the night with Gabe, Jordyn, Mike, Trish, and of course the dogs.
Fun fact: Wil had originally planned to propose two weeks later, with Jordyn helping him plan a surprise engagement party and scheme out the perfect proposal. As it turned out, Wil couldn’t even keep the ring for 24 hours before giving away the surprise.
